Superstar footballers could get their own radio stations – how about Ronaldo Radio?

UK: The British radio personality Steve Penk, known for his work on stations such as Capital and Virgin in addition to TV work, is working on an idea to create a radio station for a number of A-list footballers. According to industry news website Radio Today the first such station will be Ronaldo Radio.

A radio station based on football superstars? Not a bad idea considering the massive following they have. Cristiano Ronaldo has a loyal following of over 49 million on his social media accounts.

– My latest creation combines two of my greatest passions, radio and football, says Penk.

– Football Star Radio is something I have created, but only for a select few.

Ronaldo is used to having things named after himself, the airport in his native Madeira carries his name.

Radio Today reveal that Penk is building the radio station as “the ultimate iPod for the football star, their very own personal favourite songs available to them 24/7 as they travel the world.”

Although tailor made to Cristiano’s personal taste, the app will be available free to the general public.
