DAB+ expanding in Germany

Germany: Radio listeners in Germany will be receiving DAB+ in more areas across different regions of the country. Expansion will bring familiar stations, in addition to new digital only stations.

More German listeners will be getting their radio through DAB+, reports Radio World.

Public broadcaster NDR has already set up a new DAB+ transmitter in the Göttingen area.

NDR has also made DAB+ available in Moringen, Hardegsen, Dransfeld, Rosdorf and Nörten-Hardenberg. These areas will get nine new radio stations, three of them digital only.

In Hessen, Radio/Tele FFH GmbH and Co. Betriebs-KG has a plan to expand its DAB+ capabilities. This will likely happen next year.
