The Netherlands: Over the last two years DAB+ listening has increased three fold. Two million people listen to radio via DAB+ and the sales of DAB+ enabled radios grew by 48 per cent in the first six months of 2017.
The Dutch are embracing digital radio. Two million people now listen to radio via DAB+, three times as many as it was in 2015. Listening and sales figures were revealed earlier this week during the Digital Radio Day in Hilversum.
Sales of DAB+ has increased 48 per cent year on year and 35 per cent of cars sold in the country now have DAB+ as standard.
Dutch listeners quote the better audio quality, a wider range of stations and ease of use as reasons for them choosing the digital platform, according to a poll by NLO.
